My Professional Journey

I trained as a solicitor with the international commercial law firm Lovells (now Hogan Lovells) in London and Paris from 2001 to 2003. I gained experience of both contentious and non-contentious areas of law:

  • Corporate insolvency and business restructuring;
  • Energy and construction;
  • Intellectual property and media;
  • Capital markets and structured finance.

In 2003, I joined the dispute resolution department of a UK regional firm, Walker Morris.

During a career break between 2006 and 2007, I completed a Masters degree in human rights at the Lyon Institute of Human Rights, France. I supplemented this with an internship at the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva.

In 2008, on returning to the UK, I retrained in legal aid work, gaining practical knowledge and experience of:

  • Immigration and asylum;
  • Criminal law;
  • Housing and homelessness;
  • Employment law.

    chilled reading scene

    I became a freelance translator in 2011, combining my legal and language background. With a commitment to professional development and client care, I joined ITI and CIEP. I am a member of the Law Society of England and Wales (non-practising solicitor).
